Demons in the house (from yardsales to even digital purchases)

consider the popular jw myth: be careful what you bring home from a yard sale, it might have come from someone who has ties with witchcraft, magic, satan, etc.

said item thus would be an instrument the demons can use to get into your home and harass you.

so be careful of that teacup, tennis racket, or shirt you just purchased!.

First I want to say to you, Cognisonance, you're a good egg for caring for your JW father.(I'm assuming this part is TRUE? or perhaps your MOM)

Anyway, someone you love has a biased opinion on all (JW)spiritual things. He is elderly. He probably will not change his views, so late in life. Accepting that, you can find a way to be able to respect his beliefs and respect him as your Father. There are no simple answers.

I do not like to lie to anyone. I do not like when other people try to manipulate and control me. Having said that, sometimes in order to avoid stress and tension and disagreement, you just concede. Who does it harm if you concede. Just love him, anyway. Make your peace.

He believes what he believes. You believe what you believe. You don't have to tell him you watched a certain movie or that you just purchased an antique.

I hope this helped you a little.

Everything is going bad.

i just went up to see my friend who was in a care center.

i went in his room and he was dead, i had to call the nurse who said she was with him 15 minutes before.

i was in walmart the day before and saw an old school mate who's mother was a jw and he said he had cancer and had two years to live according to the doctor.

Ken P (Decided)-Wow! What a sad and shocking series of events you've just been through. I am very sorry on the loss of your friend.

And on hearing the news about the JW's son who has cancer, your brother-n-law's cancer and your brother who has prostate cancer and Parkinson's.

It can be overwhelming and disheartening that so many people you love are ill. I cannot imagine how difficult it has been for you.

I hope that you are feeling better after your hospitalization. I don't think you have to worry about the hospital bills. You said 75,000 before your insurance, and if you haven't any money, you don't have to worry about co-payments-if there are any-just call the hospital and speak to the billing dept and social worker if necessary.

Please don't worry about things that you have no control over. Stress only increases and exacerbates illness, but serves no good purpose.

Yes, Ken, it could always BE worse, but you've just been through a lot and I hope things WILL BE BETTER for you.

it was really hard for me to watch the first episode in its entirety.

it's so hard to see these young people have to decide between their family/religion vs. freedom or be shunned from everything/one.. or... maybe it's because this is my life?

i really do not understand how any can be athiests from thinking real hard about it.

how can you think everything on this earth just happened?.

from my understanding, to be athiest, this is pretty much how it goes.

I don't have a scientific MIND. I'm more of a CREATIVE MIND. I believe in a CREATOR. I don't Mind what others want to believe. However, I DO MIND CONTROL.

Let's remember the 'Sparlock' video was entitled: "Become Jehovah's friend- Listen, Obey and Be Blessed."

It seems pretty obvious, the WTBTS is saying in order to have Jehovah's approval and mommy and daddy's, too, children should not play with 'magical' toys as it is 'bad' and displeases God. In other words- if you, Caleb, play with that toy or any similar type of toy, you will not become Jehovah's friend.

Yes, Cedars, thanks for the link. The above is a good quote from 1994.

Obviously the "GB" received "new light" regarding toys and they were duty bound. It was necessary to warn parents and frighten young children, as this is lifesaving work.

Parents must be warned that children with imaginations and thinking abilities are not to be tolerated by Jehovah.

Remember, playing with a wizard toy or watching wizardry of any sort will feed the child's imagination and will help them to recognize that there's only a MAN ( 8 MEN) behind the (WTS) curtain.
